Five members of the 2022 Mildenhall Fen Tigers squad – proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery – are in action art West Row this afternoon (Sunday 19th. June) taking part in the special benefit meeting being staged in memory of the late Danny Ayres. The former Mildenhall rider passed away in February 2020 and the proceeds of this meeting go to secure the future of his two young daughters.

All five Fen Tigers will have travelled considerable distances over the past 12 hours to get to their home track for today’s action: four of them were in team action at Edinburgh on Friday and Berwick yesterday, while James Shanes has hot footed it back from Poland after contesting the opening round of the World Long Track Championship GP series.

Shanes rides in the main individual meeting which sees a confirmed line up (in riding order) of (1) Max Clegg; (2) Ben Barker; (3) Jake Allen; (4) Richard Lawson; (5) Cameron Heeps; (6) JAMES SHANES; (7) Ben Morley; (8) Connor Coles; (9) Connor Mountain; (10) Jacob Hook; (11) James Wright; (12) Alfie Bowtell; (13)  Thomsen; (14) Danny King; (15) Zaine Kennedy; (16) George Congreve.

There is a six heat mini match as supporting act to the Memorial Individual and this features two quartets, named after two of Danny’s catchphrases when describing himself and his meteoric rise to Speedway prominence. as follows:

Gates open at 12.30pm with a meeting start date which is one hour earlier than normal Race Days: 2pm.

Admission is £20 adults, £15 concessions with under 16’s free and can be paid in cash at the turnstiles. A 44 page souvenir programme will be on sale at £5 inside the stadium.
