It’s a case of “Take Two and Action!” on Sunday (28/8) at Mildenhall Speedway – proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery – with the second part of this week’s crucial pair of match-ups with Play Off rivals, Oxford Chargers.

Having defied the odds on a memorable evening at Oxford on Wednesday to end the Chargers unbeaten record, it’s now vital that the momentum is built on with the Fen Tigers knowing that a top four placing and qualification for the National Development League [NDL] title-deciding Play Offs is within their own hands now.  Three wins from the remaining three home matches and the Play Off spot is theirs.

But for Oxford, in their penultimate match, they know that only by turning the tables on their recent conquerors will keep their own season alive. It’s another classic win at all costs battle.

And the choice of ‘Guest’ to cover for the injured James Shanes for the Fen men is sure to hearten the home fans – as it’s supporters’ favourite, Lee Complin. The 37-year-old from North Yorkshire has thrilled the West Row faithful in two previous appearances at the Suffolk track last month – the second of which was ‘Guesting’ for the Fen Tigers scoring paid 14 points. More of the same is very much what the doctor will have ordered!

And talking of doctors, Lee’s fellow Tyke, Luke Muff has had his fill of seeing the medics for his injured knee and is delighted to be fit and returning to the Mildenhall line up on Sunday.

With Rider Replacement [R/R] still in place for Sam Bebee, named at no. 8 is one of the heroes from Wednesday, Bebee’s namesake from Lincs, Sam Woods.

Making a return after missing the home match for the Oxford side is their team captain, Jordan Jenkins. The skipper last term of Mildenhall’s NDL-winning side was expected to be unavailable after pulling out with abdominal pains on Wednesday but when needs must he’s defying the pain barrier for one last effort to try and get his latest team in the Play Offs.

Jenkins is joined in the side by three other riders who’ve called West Row home in recent seasons: fellow league winning rider from last season, Sam Hagon; plus from the class of 2019, Arran Butcher and, by some distance the Chargers’ most impressive performer on Wednesday, Henry Atkins.

Both sides are unchanged from Wednesday bar Complin and Muff for the Fen Tigers and Jenkins’ return for the Chargers, who can utilise all their riders to cover under R/R for the stricken Nathan Stoneman.

Gates open at 1.30pm with a big turn-out of fans needed to cheer on the Fen Tigers in their most crucial home match of the season – tapes are up at 3pm.
