The Mildenhall Fen Tigers proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery will prepare for their season opening challenge fixture versus a ‘Poultec’ select (Sunday 21st April 3pm) with a two-day Press and Practice event commencing on Friday 12th April at 11am.

The day will start with press interviews and photographs before riders will get the opportunity to experience their West Row home for the first time in 2019. The following day (Saturday 13th April) there will be a training day from 11.00am with the eight Fen Tigers being joined by a mixture of 25 youngsters plus riders relatively new to the sport none of which currently has a team place in the National League.

Both events are open to supporters with entrance being free of charge, entry is via the usual turnstiles in the main carpark. The bar and fish and chip shop will be open on both days.

Speaking on behalf on the Fen Tigers consortium Phil Kirk said “We are very pleased to be able to host a two-day Press and Practice and would like to thank the stadium owners for their help in making this possible. We have a busy start to our season and these two days will be important for our lads as they get themselves dialed into their home track. We must also thank Jason Pipe for his help in sourcing so many youngsters for the Saturday. As a club we are always watching for up and coming youngsters and this day will give us the opportunity to see a considerable number of riders first hand. We held a similar event last year where we saw young Sam Norris for the first time, and a year on he is starting the season as our number eight.

As in previous years we will take a short break during the Friday Press day to allow supporters the opportunity to speak with the riders and take photographs and hopefully many of our supporters will be able attend both days.”

Looking forward to the opening meeting the Fen Tigers will face a Poultec side which will include Tom Brennan, Anders Rowe, Alex Spooner, Jacob Clouting plus three as yet unnamed riders. There will also be six second half junior races giving supporters 21 heats of speedway to enjoy in the season opener.

Gates will open 15 minutes earlier this season (1.15pm) as the club have reintroduced the ‘meet the rider’ ahead of each meeting. One of the Fen Tigers team will be available to meet supporters outside the pits in front of the Fenman bar every meeting from 1.45 to 2.15pm. They will be handing out photocards and there will be opportunities for supporters to get photographs and autographs with the rider.
