The Mildenhall Fen Tigers proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery gave the highly touted Kent Kings plenty to think about at Central Park this afternoon.
On a difficult track Fen Tigers talisman Danny Ayres stood head and shoulders above the opposition as he raced to an immaculate 18 point maximum. The distances he put between himself and his rivals was something to behold and home and away supporters cheered the crowd favourite’s victories as one.
Ayres received good support from Jason Edwards who combined with the Mildenhall number one for a 5-1 in heat fifteen, but good racing was at a premium. Mildenhall struggled at reserve but battling Macauley Leek was unluckily excluded in heat fourteen which ultimately cost the Fen Tigers a deserved point.
Speaking after the meeting Team Manager Malcolm Vasey was full of praise for his number one, he said “Danny was on a different level today, make no mistake, this was an exceptional six ride maximum with a combination of fast starts and sweeping passes he regally entertained the crowd on a difficult surface for racing.
I feel we deserved a point from our endeavours this afternoon and battled hard throughout the meeting. We will now have a short break to regroup prior to our important home NL fixture versus Cradley”
