It’s a busy and highly important weekend for the Mildenhall Fen Tigers proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery. Saturday evening see’s one of the National League’s main events, the National League 4TT Finals at Stoke (6.45pm) followed the next day by a must win home National League fixture versus Stoke.

The foursome for Saturday will be led by the flying Danny Ayres who is scoring impressive points in all three leagues. Back up comes from Jason Edwards who returns to Stoke a week after a fourteen point guest return and Henry Atkins and Matt Marson. On paper the Fen Tigers look to be in the harder of the two groups but travel with confidence and will be looking to bring back the trophy the club last won in 2012.

Sunday issimply a meeting the Fen Tigers cannot lose, currently sat at the bottom of the National League, but with games in hand, the Fen Tigers need to embark on a run of victories to move them into the top four of the league. Back to full strength they will be looking to dispose of a Stoke septet that will be missing both ex Fen Tigers captain Connor Coles and Joe Lawlor. Making a quick return to Mildenhall after his recent departure will be David Wallinger whilst their second guest is a Mildenhall favourite, the 2018 captain Jordan Jenkins.

Speaking ahead of the weekend Team Manager Malcom Vasey said “I feel confident we can put on a really good show at the Fours on Saturday evening, we match up well with the other sides and it should be a great evening of speedway.

Sunday is probably our most important meeting of the season, a second home league defeat is unthinkable and would leave our chances of making the play offs very slim!

Stoke have picked their guests well and if anything are now slightly stronger, both riders coming in will surely be out to prove a point! That said we looked very good last weekend against Thurrock and it was particularly pleasing to see Charlie and Elliot back and scoring good points”
