Many of you have asked for clarification around the Supporters Trust and what this means for you, if you join.
We hope the below information will do this for you;
- The Supporter’s Trust is being set up to make Mildenhall the first Fan-Owned speedway club in the UK!
- To join the club, you will be required to complete and return the application form, along with an annual membership fee of £100.
- For each membership you gain 1 vote for all committee matters - this includes, but is not limited to, election of board members each year.
- The Trust will partially fund the club to get up and running. We hope to raise a minimum of £10,000 working capital to get us started. The initial £10,000 will go towards the License to run and British Speedway Promoters Limited (B.S.P.L.) league entrance bond, the track inspection by the Speedway Control Board (S.C.B.) and numerous facilities that will be required to make the Fen tigers and Mildenhall stadium compliant with S.C.B. regulations (i.e. hire of a toilet/shower block, etc).
- The trust will be run by the steering committee. The steering committee will consist of a minimum 5 people elected each year by you, the members of the trust.
- There will be a minimum of 3 Trustees, who will oversee the financial wellbeing of the trust.
- Members of the trust will hold no legal liability to any club/trust related issues.
- You can become a member of the trust no matter where you live! If you are not able to attend vote meetings in person, you will be able to enter your vote by email.
- The trust will publish accounts at the end of each year, and we hope to be able to use an external company to do so.
- There will be ongoing fundraisers and various sponsorship opportunities throughout the season to keep the Trust solvent and ensure that there are enough funds to run each meeting.
- Any funds remaining at the end of the year will roll over to next season to go towards the running costs of the club.
- You will receive regular trust updates via email
