With Danny Ayres out for some considerable time following his broken tibia in the opening heat of yesterdays meeting the Mildenhall Fen Tigers proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery have moved quickly to draft in a replacement for their captain and talisman.
Returning to the Fen Tigers fold, subject to BSPA approval, is 2018 star ‘Flyin’ Ryan Kinsley. Kinsley was a somewhat surprise signing at the start of the 2018 season but soon endeared himself to the Mildenhall faithful with his stylish all action style and trademark outside passes. Adding over three points to his starting average Kinsley was deservedly rewarded with a starting place in the Championship with Scunthorpe this season. Hopes though of a return to the Fen Tigers was scuppered by the reduced 36 points team building average for the 2019 season, but the sad events of Sunday have opened the door for a late season return.
Fen Tigers Co-owner Phil Kirk said “This is a situation we really did not want to find ourselves in, Danny has been exceptional this season both on the and off the track and is unreplaceable, thankfully we hear that the operation today was successful and we send our best wishes to him for a full and successful recovery.
Ryan is in our opinion the best option by far for us, he impressed greatly against Thurrock earlier this season showing he still knows the fastest way around our track, and is desperate to ride for us again after his success last season. He loves it at Mildenhall and is a real crowd favourite. Subject to BSPA approval he will rejoin us for Sunday’s fixture at home to Kent when I am sure he will receive a very warm welcome from our supporters”
